Caesar Act I.i Reflection
Even though we don't have royalty in our society, there are political leaders that just because of the position they hold that they are better than everyone else. This is similar to the Elizabethan times. Also, people now still think that they should talk down to people with less money, schooling, or a lower job or social class. Another thing is that when we are switching presidents or another high powered leader, the people in the country kind of go into panic to see who the next person is going to be. They want it to be who they think the right person is because nobody wants a bad leader. I think the author makes an accurate characterization of today’s public. There are a lot of people who want some sort or leader to tell them what to do. We rely on the people around us most of the time to get through the day so when we are switching leaders or don't know exactly what to do, we sometimes struggle. The author is correct because people are still very similar to the people that lived years ago. Sure we have changed, but we still make fun of the people that aren't just like us and have some similar characteristics.

ReplyDeleteKind of like we have more rights, but we as humans have to learn the same lessons with each generation. Hopefully the progress as a race means that the teaching of those same lessons is less costly and time consuming.
